Oral presentation

This oral presentation has been the first in second of batxillerat. As it's a custom for me, I was so nervous when I started to speak, but then, I improved my own security and I started to speak more clearly and more fluency. Even though I prepare an oral presentation, nerves will be there always, I can't keep them off.

I think I should try to move less, and stop saying wierd things, as sometimes I say. In general, although I don't know the mark I got, I should try to improve my fluency and my vocabulary. I did some important mistakes that I shouldn't do to improve my english. Next time I'll do better than now.

20N

20N is the name people gave to spanish elections on November. Normally when one conutry has elections, people chose the president that they want and normally it is not clearly. But in Spain, probably elections wouldn't be needed.

Spaniards have chosen Rajoy with almost all votes. The PP won about 44% of the vots and socialists 29%. It's one of the most difference since Franco's time. Its PP vots should be abouts 186 seats on the lower house.

It affects us because we're Spaniards and it's our country, all action govern does, it affects to us. Also I think it will be a drak periode for Catalonia so I think catalans must be together to face up it.

I am a champion

I am a champion is the name of one of the videos I see before a match. In this video appears a coach, called Flower who's trying to motivate his players before a match. It's in english but there are lots of traductions to anothers languages. And as somebody say, if you see this video, you can jump to the square without open the door, you jump to play very concentrated, trying to do all things as well you can. This speech talks about how you have to jump to the square, the way you have to be, and what do you need to act correct and think clearly. Nick Vujicic

Probably you won't ever heard this name because you think: oh it's just a man, like me or like some others. But he's different. He's 23 but he was born without limbs. Only there was a little "chiken wing" as he say in his left leg. When he was young, everybody thought that he had a mental disability but it isn't true, and other boys laughted at him. Sometimes he thought about to commit a suicide, even his parents thought that he wouldn't be nobody in this life. Nobody said it was easy and without limbs more. He's very clever, but just with his wing. He can swim, he can talk to someone, he can drive a car, he does a normal life like us.

Nick is very strong. He always say that you must not give up even thought things doesn't go well, you must carry on fighting for reach your dreams, as he did.

In fact, you don't have to feel bad to change your life if things go wrong, just think nothing go wrong *:)

HIMYM

How I met your mother is one of the most popular tv programme in USA. This serie explains the life of Ted Mosby and his friends. Ted is a rational man who doesn't do anything without thnking about it. This serie follow the life of he and his friend through a search of Ted's love. He's an architect who is working in a university but Barney Stinson wants to give him a project to build the new building for his company. Barney is a smart men who wants to roll up with a lot of girls. But also, he's looking for his love, but he doesn't find it.

Also there is the only couple in the serie: Marshall Erikssen and Lilly Aldrin. They met them in the university and started a relationship since then. They are the characters who give stability in this serie and the perfect love.

And the character that's it's different than the rest is Robin. She's a journalist from Canada but she decide to work in NYC. Ted fell in love with her and after that he introduce her in his friend group.

In my opinion, this is one of the best tv serie and it shows how important is a friend group to enjoy

Don't worry, be happy.

Sometimes we get stressed and we can't think clearly. It means that there is something wrong inside our brain as neurotransmissors aren't working well at this moment and you need to take a break. Specialists now are trying to find out how the brain workd and what causes some of the most populars neurodegeneratives diseaes. Actually we know what every part of our brain does but we don't know the reason why it happens.

Some specialists are making an effort to look for this solution because they think that it would help them to understand how we are abd why we are.It could also help by looking for the regeneration of neurons, and neurotransmitors.

It can give society a ray of hope because if you have a relative who has a degenerative disease, it can help him and also to make people more intelligent, to understand feelings and emotions, but above all, to help people

Febrary 2011 Catalonia Today

Galileo

Europe has launched to the space a rocket that carries the most famous European GPS system: Galileo. A total of 16 satellites that have to complete this system that it has to be the most complex system and useful for us. The system allows you to know where someone is with in a milimetric precision around the world.

But the only bad thing that it has is that you can know were your mobile contacts are if you have an iPhone with "Find my Friends" and it can give problems to some couples.

In general, it shows how technology has improved a lot, and that's a positive point for European technology.

San Francisco

Before to leave LA, we rent a Suburban. I have to say that this car is one of the most comfortable I've ever been. We spent 7 hours traveling trought west Coast. We did a break in Santa Barbara, a great and beautiful place with an endless coastline full of beaches. Then, we arrived to SF, about 8 pm. The city was full of fog and all cars had the lights on. We found our hotel and as we were hungry, we found some place to have dinner. As it's usual in USA, fast food was the best solution to calm our hungry.

At 8am, we were going to pier 33 to take a ferry to Alcatraz. My impression about Alcatraz was magic. When you're there, you start to think how feelings people felt when they were there and how the life was inside the prision.

Afterwards, we went to have lunch, fish and ships in a chinese trade. Then we went to visit little italy and chinatown. When the night fell over SF, all homeless went out from some shelters and the city was afraid. But the positive thing of it, was that we could ride a cablecar, and see all famous places.

In general, one of the most beatuiful cities in USA, and a great place to enjoy.

L.A.

Have you ever had a dreamed place where you'd like to go? I had one: West Coast. I don't tell you what I felt when I was there right now, so let me explain my trip.

My trip starts in Barcelona in the airport. We catch the plan from Barcelona to Zurich. We arrive in Zurich at 11pm and 1 hour after, we were flying to L.A.. During 13 hours, my boring level was maximum. We land at 15 pm and we find the way we can go out from the airport.

LAX (the name of L.A. airport) is huge and there are infinity of ways to go out. We catch a bus and after lose ourself in L.A outskirts during 3 hours, we arrive to L.A. center, Hollywood Boulevard. Huge avenues, large streets, lots of cars driving at high speed and some homeless. We spend 1 hour looking for the hotel, and finally we arrive. After it, we leave the luggage to the room and go for some food, fast food, traditional american food.

1 day: We spend one day in L.A. After to explain what we do, I have to advertise you: L.A. is a waste of time and money. Then I explain you:

We wake up at 8am and we have breakfast. 20 minutes later, we are walking to Hollywood. We arrive to Hollywood and we see that it's a fantastic place. We spend 3 hours visiting Hollywood, Chinese theatre, Hollywood street and some more things. We take lots of photos. After it we decide to visit Beverly Hills and we meet a man who wants to guide us with limousin to Beverly Hills. We spend 3 hours visiting Beverlly Hills and Rodeo Street.

As we are starved, we decide to look for some restaurant and as normal, fast food.

At the afternoon we visit Pueblo, the originally center of L.A. at next to L.A. skyline. We spend all afternoon visiting pueblo and at 8 pm, we are at the hotel. We look for some fast food and go to sleep as tomorrow waits for us 8 hours closed into a car traveling to S.F.

How I am

My dream

I'm Aleix and now I'm doing 2nd of Batxillerat. I've always been a lazy boy. But this year it isn't. This year I'm working hard because I want to get the best mark in selectivitat if I could. I'm glad on myself because I'm not the same boy than last year, I've changed. I would like to study an computering career when I finish batxillerat.


When I'll finish my career, I would like to carry on studying and course some specialized master, like making and design computer games amb video games and go to workl on EA SPORTS labs or ACTIVISION labs. But all these words are just words.

News

New planet has been discovered. It is near 2000 light years from Earth. But it has a problem: their life time is coming to the end, and for this reason, it's imposible to habit because when we'll arrive, the planet will die. This planet has been founded with telescopie MPG/ESO 2.2-m in Chile. This planet is like Jupiter, very enormeous but it roting so fast. For the detection of this planet, the scientist have used new methode for detection called radial velocity method.

I think this discovered can change some things. It's true this planet is only one of 500 extraterrests planets, but this planet has been created by one strange mode called cosmic cannibalism. One black hole that has been absorbing celestials bodies.

Tawain Skyline

Today, I've find a curious news. The notcie talked about one building which is going to be make. It will be like a tree but with eight mobiles laboratories. The building height will be 1000 ft. It's enormeous! This construction will be paid for Taiwanese government and will begin in 2012. The architect of this project is Stefan Dorin, explain this building has eight spatial laboratories or leaves and those can change position in the tree trunk and will be the third tallest building in Taiwan.

I think this notice don't affect me because I'm not taiwanese, but I think there is a important global crysis and I don't think people have to spend money to

construct building instead of helping third world people that they're starving. I reconize this building is so beautiful but I wouldn't know how much... because it's only an observatory. In fact, I think in this time, people shouldn't think to spend money for this way, but keep money and after, spend in useful things.

Self evaluation:

I think I was very nervious and my pronuntiation wasn't very clear. I moved a lot and sometimes, I didn't remember word I was to say. Probably this thing has passed because I didn't prepare so much. As it's a skind I like, I could prepare more my oral presentation. The verbal tenses I've used, some wasn't correct sometimes, I didn't know what I had to said. In fact, I think there are some people who had worked more the presentation than me. And in the video I can watch this. I didn't see public, and always I saw the camera.

I spoke very weak and I think I could be better. I'm happy with this presentation, but I'll have to work much in my oral presentation and improve my own pronuntiation.

Hello, my name is Aleix and today I'm going to talk about baskeball. I had played football and tennis but I prefered basketball because it's more funny, but I d0n't know which I wanted to play because when you're young you don't know what you like. My friends didn't like basketball and I wanted to try to play. I started to play in esplais until I was eleven because I felt tired to play. I decided to play tennis during one year. I play in C.B Castelló, it's different team of Esplais,

because there was lots of problems and the fathers decided to create a new club. Last year was the best year for me because I was the oldest player in the team and I felt important in the team. Now I think this year can be normally because I'm the youngest player, but I feel that I can do something for the team and when I was twelve I played with players who were 2 or 3 years more than me. I didn't play so much and this experience was very important for me because I worked hard and was important to incress my knowledge. Anyway, my favourite player is leBron James, because I think althought is young, he will can help all teams that he'll plays. I've had more favourite players such as Dwayne Wade, Dirk Nowitsky, Chris Bosh. I decided who was my favourite player depending of my position in basketball.

I've seen Madison Square Center, in the middle of New York, Palau Blaugrana near Camp Nou ground, also it was enormeous. I saw Regal Barça against Valladolid and Barça won. I think barça have a very good team. And now, I'm going to show you one video about leBron James. This incredible video about leBron, he squared sixteen points in two minutes against Atlanta Hawks.

Differences between NBA and ACB:

In NBA there is espectacular basket, some players of NBA are really brilliant but ACB is more real basketball. No much dribblings, no much "pick and roll" and less matches and NBA move much money. And it's OK.

An amazing dream I had

Four weeks ago, I dreamt I was in a war inside one game. I was shooting against enemies and helpign my injures colleagues. I was a marine and we had to cature one defensive postion in a little town near Kabul. The place was desert and only had some houses in construction. But suddenly, lots of enemies apears in front of our face. It was horrible. I hadmy own rifle and I felt scared to die. One of my colleagues died in front of me, and there were lots of explosions, and some houses was falling. All the dream like real and I could feel pain in my body. After, all of my colleagues started to die and then, only we were two. We started to run until fall into one cave. We were in silent. It was horrible. My dream is similar at one mision of Call of Duty, maybe I'm going freak.

My plans for the future.

I haven't got plans for the future. It's true I would like get a job in computers or videogames. But the problem is the place oh those jobs. In Spain, there aren't important companies, I should go to the USA or Canada, because those countries, all the companies have great studies. It's also true that it is very difficult to be good in this kind of job. You must be very versatile to do more than one job inside the company. And I know it's impossible, but if it was possible, I would like be a professional baskeball player. I know it's very difficult, but nothing is impossible. I would like to be an aerial operator in some important airports. I love planes because I think planes are very majestic and I know I can't be a pilot, I prefer be an aerial operator. In fact, I don't kno anything about my future.

My Fifa Meetings

I sometimes meet with my friends to play PS3. Always we play on FIFA 11. Normally, this meetings can spend 3 or 4 houres. During this time, we do aproximately 10 or 13 matches. Normally I win because I'm the best, but sometimes I choose bad team and then, some of my friends win me. Usually we meet on Wednesday and Friday because we have freetime.

We are four: Simon, Quim, Costa and me. All of we have PS3 unless Quim. Even so, Quim sometimes win some matches because he chooses Barça and, Barça is the best team in the game. Simon is so good, he knows play with all teams and he's the only who can make me play bad.

Also, when I'm alone, I play online against other players around the world. My best record is 900 of the world, but it was so hard, because I had to played three hours diary and it was

imposible. I had to choose: playing PS3 or studying, and I choosed studying. But, always I have freetime, I play FIFA because I think it's one of the best games for PS3.

My lovely friend Marta

I met her 4 years ago. At first time, we didn't have good relation for some problems. During the years, we have had times what we were good and times what we were bad and I didn't give some importance. As a result, we didn't talk much but know, I think she's one of the most important people in my life. She's a nice person ,so beautiful and so lovely peron. I don't see her much, but I always talk to her, and we meet when we're in parties. She always hears me when I have problems and she always want to help me. Now, she's studying in Figueres, Ies Alexandre Deulofeu, with some of my friends because she's studying artistic batxillerat. In my life, some people are very importants for me and she's one of them. I hope she will have a nice life and her life never be sad because she deserves it.

NYC

Last year, I went on holliday to NYC. It was fanstastic, there aren't words. I flew to Kennedy Intl Airport. I left BCN at 11: 15 am and I arrived to NYC at 2:30 pm. It was very tired because there was 5 or 6 hours of jet lag. First place that we saw, was Times Square, all walls was completly full of lights. Then, next day it was very tired because we were tired for jet lag. We didn't visit much, but during this day, we visited NBA store, Central Park, and National Museum. At the second day, we went shopping to Woodbury, a commercial center near NYC. We arrived at hotel on the night aproximately at 11pm. And during seven days, we didn't stop walking, we visited all NYC. Also, we visited Washington, and we saw Obama! We returned of Washington at 4 PM, we were very tired.

The only disappointment was the Statue of Liberty. For me, it was probably the worst thing in the travel.

Probably, next summer, I'll go again to America, but not to NYC, I'll do the 66 route, the route which cross America, I'll stay during 8 days sleeping in motels and go wiht car trought dessert, and parks.

Probably, will be lovely.

Retrum

Last week, I finished one book called "Retrum". It talks about one boy called Christian who is very strange person and nobody wants to go with him. Also, his brother died for his fault. He decide to go to cementery to visit the tomb of his brother, and when he's at the cementery, two girls and one boy appear behind him. They proposed him if he would like go with them. He agreeed because anyone wanted to go with him. He started to wear dark clothes and go out at night. During one time, always he was out of home, because he was staying with his new friends. Then, he and his new friends, decided to go around Europe, with train. When they were in London, someone killed Alexia, the girl who Christian loved. They came back to Catalonia, and they never met again until Alexia's twin wanted to kill Christian, but she couldn't, and she disapeared for always.

I think this book is fantastic. I never had read one book which was fantastic such as this. This book mix two aventures. One of action and mistery and one love story. It's a great book to read and it's very easy to understand and very fast to read.

It's called: "Retrum" of Francesc Miralles. Another book of this writer is: "Profecy 2012" talks about the end of the world.

Hi! my name is Aleix. It isn't a common name, but in castelló there are four persons with the same name. I'm sixteen and next year I will be seventeen. now, I'm a student at Ies Castelló d'Empúries. I'm studying first of batxillerat.
When I'm not at school, I usually play basketball or meet my friends. Also, I play PS3 or read some books. I suppouse I'm a good person who wants to helps others, but with some bad things. For exemple, I'm very irresponsible or before, I always did my homework at 11 o'clock. When it's Saturday, evening, I go out to parties or a night bar called Sikim. And, sometimes I go out to cinema wiht my friends, but I don't like watching films or TV. I love pizza and pasta and meat,and I hate fish or vegetables. About music, I like dance or rock/ punck music , likes Green Day, Sum 41, Blink 182 or Good Charlotte.I want to be computering engineer but I know it's too hard, but I try to do it.
I like staying with my family, and always I play basketball, my family come to see me, and I come to see my brother. He's very good player. I love how he plays.
